SUMMARY:Brilliant Exiles: American Women in Paris\, 1900–1939
DESCRIPTION:The gallery shines a light on the portraits and biographies of 60 visionary American women who lived and worked in Paris in the early 20th century—a time when they ostensibly enjoyed greater personal and professional freedom there than they would have in the U.S. The first exhibit to focus on the impact of American women on Paris—and of Paris on American women—pays tribute to icons such as Josephine Baker\, Gertrude Stein (pictured) and Zelda Fitzgerald.
